  • What is the API Key?

The API Key is a special and personal Key that starts with "sp" _and it is needed to use Scalapay in Live Mode.
You can think of it as your own password to let the plugin run correctly and send us information about the orders.
Be aware that the Live API Key is personal and can be found in your Merchant Portal account.
The Test API Key is instead already set in the plugin configurations.

  • Where can I find the API Key, and where should I put it?

The API Key can be found in the "Developer" section once you have logged in your Merchant Portal.
It starts with "sp"_ and it should be copied in your Back Office configurations in the "API Key" field. Please, remember not to remove the test Key.

  • I am integrating the plugin, but I need the API Key. Can you send it to me? / Can you give me access to the Merchant Portal?

Before giving you access to our Merchant Portal, where you will find the API Key for the Go Live, we first need to receive from you the following material:

    • A screenshot of the widget on your PRODUCT page
    • A screenshot of the widget on your CART page
    • A screenshot of the Scalapay payment method available at CHECKOUT
    • The order token corresponding to the test order you successfully completed following the procedure in this page
    • Screenshot of the "Terms and Conditions" (only for Italy and Spain)
  • When can we move to Production mode? I have already sent the screenshots and the order Token in test mode, but I did not receive the access to the Merchant Portal yet.

If we confirmed you that the Screenshots are ok and the Order Test was correctly done, we will send you an email with all the information for your First Access to the Merchant Portal.
Please, do not forget that before activating your Account, you will have to complete the Onboarding process with our colleagues. This means that the contract needs to be signed, and the commercial part should be considered completed.

  • We completed the integration, but our customers cannot make orders. Why?

It often happens that our merchants forget to insert the Live API Key in the Live API Key Section of their Back Office. Please, make sure that you have inserted the Live API Key in the right place/field of your Back Office configurations.
Also, do not remove the test API Key.
    Settings should be as follows:
    Test API Key: qhtfs87hjnc12kkos
Live API Key: (your personal Live API Key that starts with sp_).
Please remember to put the API Key in Live Mode and to Enable the Live mode.

  • I asked Scalapay to proceed with integration and installation of the plugin, but it still does not work. Why?

If we told you that the integration was completed with success by our Technical Team but Scalapay is not working, this means that probably you have not changed yet the Live API Key in your Back Office configurations.

  • I inserted the Live API Key. How can I know if we are finally in Live Mode?

If you already have inserted the Live API Key and you want to test if Scalapay plugin is working, all you need to do is to complete an order and the refund it.
If you have issues in completing the order, please contact your Integration Manager.
